Primary Function: The Project Manager will be responsible for accurate and timely estimating and management of assigned projects. Understands projects are bid with accurate pricing, scope, specification, and production rates. Manages jobs according to schedule, on budget, and according to expected profit margin. And, most important, the “Scope of Work” is completed to the Company’s standard of quality and professionalism.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the estimation process on all assigned projects per company standards, fully utilizing the company’s estimating template in Excel, Master Builder, or Timberline software.
Manages the Change Order process from estimate to change order signing.
Manages the pricing on materials and negotiation with subs prior to job start and through the issuance of subcontracts, including tracking and follow-up on RFIs and submittals.
Maintains open, daily communication with field staff and clients, with updates via daily field reports to the client.
Preparation of detailed project construction schedule.
Timely identification of problems followed with the proposal of creative solutions.
Rigorously manages subcontractors, suppliers, construction schedule updates, overall project quality control, and project close-out procedures.
SKILLS:
Worked as estimator/project manager for a minimum of 5 years in a general contracting company.
Highly motivated, self-starter.
Organized, with excellent time management skills.
Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and personably in both written and verbal forms of communication.
Long-term, strategic thinker.
BS or BA degree preferable in construction management or engineering, or experience equivalent.
